HTM 01-05 changes simplified
There has been much confusion recently regarding RO Water and Potable water use within dental care. The recent HTM 01-05 changes state that potable water is acceptable for final rinse within the washer disinfector, as long as the following can be achieved by the water supplier:
-
<30 EUml-1 - ENDOTOXINS
-
<50 mgl-1 - HARDNESS
We contacted several utility water suppliers, none of them check or measure Endotoxins, and they will not guarantee Hardness at the point of production or point of use. See UK Water Hardness Map (pdf) Or Register here for your FREE water hardness test kit.
The HTM 01-05 changes state that the <15 µS-1 required for the sterilisers, the above levels for the washer disinfectors and the Legionella control comes under the remit of the user. The table below aims to show where an RO water system (BIOPURE range) would help you meet these requirements.
| Requirement | Measurement | Process Stage | Equipment | Standard | BIOPURE Range |
